A Proud Tradition
In 2007, our Troop celebrated its 60th year of providing the morals and values embraced by the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. We appreciate our Charter Organization and Sponsor, the First Presbyterian Church of Northville, for instilling in its adult leaders the enthusiasm to deliver an exciting program to the boys, as well as for the superb facilities where we hold our weekly Troop meetings.
Whether it is a simple monthly campout somewhere in our beloved State of Michigan, or one of our grandiose High Adventure experiences, from the fondess of the Gitchee Gumee Gathering, to our exotic West Quest series, you'll find our boys being challenged in the outdoor experience that is so fundamental in Scouting.
Be it our exemplary First Year Scout Program, where the 5th graders are schooled in advanced first aid, orienteering, and basic outdoor skills; or the program for the older boys on their Trail to Eagle, the cheerful faces of over 100 registered Scouts on an annual basis is the motivation that lures over 75 registered adult leaders to mentor our guys in the leadership principles modeled in Scouting. And we are proud to count our 140th Eagle Scout recently. It is the important leadership skills that are representative of the Eagle Scouts that we find inherent in the 25 or so Scouts that find themselves of high school age, yet still feel it important to be a contributing members of our Troop.
Why don't you take the opportunity to visit with members of our Troop by attending a meeting on a Monday evening at our church venue (see our calendar on this site); or, simply send me an e-mail by using the Contact Us feature on this site. In either case, you'll receive a hearty welcome!
